aly and ward are super cute.  they are one of those really motivated couples: both really active and outdoorsy, lawyers, they are REAL grown ups!  this engagement shoot was really fun because these two came prepared!  wardrobe changes, multiple accessory options, ideas, and very willing to both follow instruction and throw it out when i said throw it out.  they also didn’t blink an eye when i told them i wanted to temporarily steel a couple black chairs from the Chautauqua dining hall, and helped to carry them all the way back to the mountain.  i really enjoy the way these came out because they start out mostly nature/mountainish, but because she had brought all these things with her, it kind of took a turn for the vintage, which was fun.  also, we could not have had better light.  the day started out with some nice setting sun in the background, but then proceeded to overcast, which was about as ideal as it gets.  fortunately we got it done and got out of there before the temperature dropped and the rain started.  i really look forward to shooting this wedding in the mountains this summer, and am even more excited because i’ll be shooting it with dave brown as my second shooter, who is just super talented and fun and i’ve been wanting to work with for quite some time.
